International Cooperation

OUJ has made collaborative agreements with nine universities worldwide, as of 2012. Under these international exchange agreements, OUJ will direct its efforts towards collaborative course material development, joint research, dual degree programs, and exchange of faculty member, administrative staff and students, in collaboration with the partner institutions.

OUJ, KNOU(Korea National Open University) and OUC have been working together to deepen understanding each other. As part of such activities, the three universities have been organizing yearly “OUJ, KNOU, OUC International Seminar” by taking turns since 2009. The OUJ held the 2nd Seminar in 2010 and invited more than 40 participants to discuss various issues about open universities. (See more details at International Activity Reports)

Collaborative agreement with Madrid Open University is concluded with the Center for Open Distance Education of The Open University of Japan.

The OUJ is actively participating in international activities as a member of international organizations, including Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) and International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE).  For AAOU, the OUJ hosted the 26th Annual Conference in October 2012.
